Something Different

Well, this year, we are doing something different for Halloween. Since we have had Anna, we have done Trick or Treating two years, and a carnival one year. (The carnival was a mistake, it was busy and packed and she did not really enjoy it.) Anyhow, I have been convicted that we are contributing to such an evil holiday and we are NOT doing either of those this year. I sold her costume and we are doing something different. This year, we are going to go with the church. For the last couple of years, our church has gone out to a local community with a big monster truck that is pulling a trailer. The trailer has good Christian music on it and the kids of our church hand out Truth and Treat sacks to the trick or treaters. Yes, the kids, with the help of a lot of accompanying adults, hand out candy and gospel tracts to other kids. So, this year we are going to do that.; ride on the trailer and take our turn handing out the Word of God to other kids. It will be fun and we will be with our church family. Hopefully I will get some pictures of this that I can post. So, that is our something different for this year. We don't need all that candy and I don't want to contribute to something in a negative way. I think this is a good way to spread the gospel. I will let you know how we liked it tomorrow.

They're Out!!

Yes, they're out!! Anna's two top teeth are both out. The second one fell out in my hand last night when I went to check on it. Anna didn't fuss, until she saw the tooth, but it is a little late for fussing then. She is scared when her teeth come out she says. In any case, that is 4 teeth done and how many more to go? A few pictures, just for fun.

Mouth open so you can see the top teeth are missing:

Being cute:

Cute Close up:

As you can see, she is missing the two top teeth, but you can't really tell because she has two big bottom teeth and they are covering the area where her two top teeth are coming in. Oh well. She is losing her baby teeth just the same. Now, which teeth come out next? We already lost all four front teeth. LOL!

Back to Reality

LOL! What a title. My birthday celebrations are over and it is time to get back to work. At least the dishes and laundry are pretty much caught up. We spent Saturday night out at a friends place with other homeschoolers and had a great time. There was dinner, smores, a hay ride, games, and just good old fashioned fun. It was a lot of fun for everyone! I slept great that night. (Can't tell you about Anna as she spent the night at her Grammy's.) Sunday, we had lunch and then had family over for cake. I also went and spent the gift card I was given on some things for me. Now granted, I should have spent more of it on me, but I got some things for me. I do have Anna's birthday party following right behind mine next Sunday. No, that's not her actual birthday, but its as close as we can come to it and still allow almost all the family to be there. It will be followed closely behind by one of her friends birthdays early next week. LOL!! It is fun. The kids all enjoy it. I was just excited to spend some money on me, even a gift card. That's still money for me. Alright, its time to head back to reality. Time to do school and clean the rest of the house. Time to actually do something. We can't just sit around anymore. UGH! I so liked doing nothing. Oh well. The fun is done. Have a good day.

I Did My Part

Will you please do yours?? I was a part of early voting this week. Its probably no secret who I did NOT vote for, but I can't vote for someone who has no morals whatsoever. I want to vote for someone who has more of my Christian values. I can't vote for someone who supports abortion of any type. I can't vote for someone who thinks that our National Anthem and Flag are offensive to other countries. I refuse to do that. I did vote for someone who I think will do a good job. I voted for who I believed will be the best candidate. I will not tell you who I voted for, but you already know who I did not vote for. I have done my part, now will you please do yours and go out and vote. Thanks.

Cooking Time

Well, instead of regular school yesterday, I chose to cook with my daughter. We had run errands all morning, voted, gotten a few things at the store, and taken my mom somewhere, so I wasn't really in the mood for school when I got back home. We did spelling, and then we cooked, sort of. I taught my daughter how to make a very sweet old time favorite of ours growing up...No Bake Chocolate Cookies. YUM!! We got a lot of math in there, counting cups and how many do we still need. We also got some reading, because of course you need to read the recipe. There then of course was some home-making, you must clean up your mess, and some waiting. OK! A LOT of waiting. The cookies set in the fridge. Our fridge is small and we had made a double batch. LOL. Must wait. Anyhow, the end result was a scrumptious plate of our favorite cookies. YUMMY!! We have to have more school days like this. It was fun.

Here are a few pictures of the fun we had.

The cookies aren't much to look at, but boy are they delicious!! YUM!! Lots of sugar and chocolate. No wonder I haven't had them since I lived at home. LOL!! The last time I had these was years ago. Like over 10 years ago. I still lived at home. They are still good though. It may be a while before we make them again, but we will enjoy them while we got them. Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed our pictures. We had a great time and I still need to finish cleaning the kitchen. LOL!! Have a good day and enjoy.

The recipe, for those who just got to know it:

No Bake Chocolate Cookies

Boil:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Place in a bowl:

  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla (double is 1 tbsp.)
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa (double 3/4 cup)

Pour boiled mixture over the bowl mixture and mix thoroughly. Let set for 2 minutes. Place by teaspoon fulls on wax paper. Place in fridge. Cool and enjoy.

(On a side note, we used a tablespoon to drop ours, which really makes them too big. Definitely use a teaspoon. They are super sweet, so enjoy!!)

To Make You Think! (Election Related)

This came through my in box this week and though I am not as well versed in the Bible as I would like to be, I thought it should be shared.
This will make you re-think: A Trivia question in Sunday School:
How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelation?
Revelation Chapter 13 tells us it is 42 months, and you know what that is. Almost a four-year term of a Presidency.
All I can say is 'Lord, Have mercy on us!'
According to The Book of Revelation the anti-Christ is: The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything..Do we recognize this description??
I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to post this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet..do it! I refuse to take a chance on this unknown candidate who came out of nowhere.
From: Dr. John Tisdale ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends, As I was listening to a news program last night, I watched in horror as Barack Obama made the statement with pride. . .'we are no longer a Christian nation; we are now a nation of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, . . .' As with so many other statements I've heard him (and his wife) make, I never thought I'd see the day that I'd hear something like that from a presidential candidate in this nation. To think our forefathers fought and died for the right for our nation to be a Christian nation--and to have this man say with pride that we are no longer that. How far this nation has come from what our founding fathers intended it to be.

I hope that each of you will do what I'm doing now--send your concerns, written simply and sincerely, to the Christians on your email list. With God's help, and He is still in control of this nation and all else, we can show this man and the world in November that we are, indeed, still a Christian nation!

Please pray for our nation

Corn Field Maize Pictures!

Yeah, I know you all have been waiting patiently for some more pictures. We went to the Corn Field Maize with some friends of ours over at We're Blessed. She has a really cute video of all her pictures, but since I haven't figured it out, you will have to live with pictures. Someday I will learn how to do all that fun stuff. Any other videos I have shown on here are from my husband, he's good with things like that too. Anyhow, now for the Corn Maize pictures:

The entrance, pick out a set of questions:

The girls at the entrance:

Anna & Emily at a point in the maze:

Oh thank goodness, we made it half way:

What!? We walked for 45 minutes in a huge field of corn! Yes, we needed a break. It was a perfect time for a corn presentation:

Anna loved to pick the corn:

Congratulations! We made it through the maze of corn!!

Hayride to the pumpkins. They were pretty:
We let the girls each get two little ones:
My little funny faced pumpkin head:
(The sun was in her eyes.)

Well, there you have it. Our corn field maize field trip with friends! It was a lot of fun. We are going to have to plan more field trips and play days with our friends over at We're Blessed. It was a lot of fun and we miss spending time with them. Hope you enjoyed!! Take care all. God bless you!!

Pictures of Apple Orchard!!

Alright, I admit it. I am a big slacker lately. Especially when it comes to blogs. What with life running after me constantly, and trying to clear out excess junk in my house and sell things and go on more field trips, etc, etc, I am just slow. I am so slow posting pictures that its not funny, but here they are. Sorry I took so long. The Corn Field Maize will be tomorrow's pictures, if I can remember to do them. LOL!! Without further any further excuses, since I can't really think of any more, here are the pictures from the Apple Orchard.

Trying real unprocessed honey:

Playing with a ladybug, these were put back on the trees:

Eating an apple. They were allowed to eat as many as they wanted:

Green Apples:

Red Apple:

Well, there you have it. Apple Orchard pictures done. I have more, but they have a bunch of other kids in them and I don't exactly have permission to post their children's pictures. The kids also took a hay ride. It was fun.

Pictures Still to Come

Ok, ok. I admit it. I am slow to post pictures this time. They are coming though. I promise. UGH!! I need to figure out how to move them to the proper spots on the computer myself. LOL!! My hubby does that for me and so I wait. There are some good ones on there too.

As a side not, I forgot to tell you that I got my hair cut two weeks ago. As always, I still hate my hair. It comes from my birth father. It is wiry, frizzy and just plain a mess, no matter what I do. I can straightened it and it is still frizzy. I can perm it and it is still frizzy. I sometimes just want smooth straight hair. Ok, I admit it...I always want smooth straight hair. LOL!! Anyhow, You will gt a half a look in the new pictures, when I post them.

Ok, I better go and get started with my day. I am so procrastinating today. I just want to laze around, but I have things to do. Have a good day all. God Bless!!

WARNING: POLITICAL AGENDA ON THIS POST

WARNING: POLITICAL AGENDA ON THIS POST!!!

I am saddened and sickened even more by this man's thinking and ways. Please watch this. No, I am not wanting a political debate to be started here, but the truth must be told.

Here is another one that he makes fun of Christians and mocking us.

And yet another reason for me to not like the man:

Yes, that is a video of Oprah, but she solely endorses Obama and I will not support this. I believe that there is only one way to Christ and that is through Jesus Christ our Lord. I will not and can not support people who believe otherwise. I do not want a debate here on my blog, just laying out some straight facts for all to see.

Busy Week

Well, we have had a somewhat busy week. Anna and Jeremy went to the Band Extravaganza on Tuesday and then we went to the Cornfield maze yesterday. I will definitely try and get pictures up on both those trips later. Today Anna has her first spelling test. I bet she aces it, the words are super easy, the lists for spelling started off simple. Alright, we better get going. Take care and look for pictures later.

Court Update

We are done at court. It went as well as could be expected. The lawyer said it went good. She worked hard to get everything done right for my mother. My mother answered all questions honestly. Now, we get to wait again. UGH!! I am praying it is a fast answer. The lawyer said that it was to take 2-5 months for an answer. Pray for a quicker answer than that please. We now sit and wait, again. Thanks for all your prayers again.

Court Date

Tomorrow is my mom's court date. You know, the one we have been waiting for all this year and part of last year. Yes, the court date for her disability. I am asking you all to join me in prayer. We are praying that the judge sees her disabilities for what they are and allow her to get the money that is rightly hers. We are also praying for a swift decision. We need this decided very quickly so my mom can get back on her own two feet and have her own place again. There is no need to drag this out for months on end. She deserves to have a swift decision. Anyhow, it is at 10:00am central time. I will not be allowed into the court room, which stinks as I have gone to everything. I will be sitting at the door listening as intently as I can. Thanks all for your prayers and if you find it in your hearts, please pray for us tomorrow at 10:00am. Thanks so much and God bless.

Fireproof

I just wanted to put this out there for everyone. If you can at all possible, go see the movie Fireproof. It was an excellent movie and had great morals. God is definitely looking out for all of us in this one. I truly believe that this movie and the book, The Love Dare will change lives. I am going to get that book tomorrow and start reading it. The movie is very inspiring. Please continue to pray that God's hand will be in their up-coming features and that we will continue to be able to see these kinds of movies in the theatres. It is well worth it to spend out money on something we believe in!!
