Soccer Update
UGH!! I digress. Sorry, no soccer pictures yet. I will try and force my ever loving little girl into taking a few pictures tomorrow. We haven't gotten the uniform shirt yet, and I was hoping that we would have it before I shot some pics to throw on here. Anna is still loving soccer and loves going to practice. She is practicing 3 days a week right now which I think is great for her. Not only is it good exercise, but she also has to listen to someone besides her mom and dad. LOL!! I do promise though that as soon as I get some, you all will see them. That's all for tonight. Its late. :-)

Soccer Checklist
Signed Up, check
Paid in Full, check
Bought all the gear, check
Eagerly awaiting first practice, check!
LOL!! We got Anna all she needed for soccer today from Aca*demy!! Yes, that's the place. It was almost half what I was going to spend at Wal*mart or Tar*get and I even bought two pair of shorts! I really like their price on some basics, like plain colored tee shirts for kids, $1.99. Her shorts were $3.99 a pair and her cleats were...get this....only $6.99. REALLY!! Just $6.99. They were marked for $8.99, which is still under half of what Target charges...not name brand, but they made her very happy and they will serve their purpose. I will be going back. Stay tuned for pictures coming up. I can't wait to get a full picture of her in the uniform!!

Uhm...Blogging....Not so much
Ok, ok. I have not been blogging too much. I got caught up with FB!! I can't help it. It's WAY easier to use and I get instant feedback. LOL!!
Not much has changed here. We started school last week and so far it is going well. I do need to invest in the teacher's manuals for Anna's reading program as there are a few things that you just can't do without them. Too hard to figure it out.
Anna started soccer yesterday and will have her first "official" practice on Thursday. Not sure who her coach will be, but we know that she will like it. I will take her tomorrow to buy all the things she needs for the game.
Anna is also saying funny things lately. While I was horsing around with her and getting ready to stop, she looked up at me and said "Keep doting on me please." LOL!!! I didn't even know she knew that word, let along what it meant.
On my health, well, if the Doctor's office could EVER return calls like they say, I might have something to tell you, but they don't so I don't. I will call them again Thursday if no work by then. They told me I would for sure hear something Monday. YEAH right!! Its half way through Tuesday and still nothing. I sometimes wished I had insurance so I could afford a better doctor, but I don't. Its a double-edged sword. I call them and they get annoyed and since they can't call me, I get annoyed. LOL. Bad combination.
Ok, that's it for my update. I better get going and find an afternoon snack. Take care all. Thanks for reading and sticking by me.

Power Problems
Ok, my night last night went something like this.
6:30 - Mom's Night Out
9:30 - Return home
9:45 - Power goes out
10:03 - Call electric company
Then comes a WHOLE lot of waiting. On what, I'm not sure, but it was getting VERY HOT!!!!
12:16 - Place second call to electric company
12:38 - Light some new candles and blow out the ones that were burned down to the bottom
12:43 - Electric company FINALLY decides to grace us with their presence in the back alley. It was HOT and miserable. YUCK!!
1:07 - Power comes back on!! Thank you Lord!!!
1:34 - After fixing everything and trying to relax, collapse into bed and sleep.
Seriously, does it take over 3 hours to get someone out to fix the power? UGH!! I was hot, hurting and miserably tired, but could not really rest with candles going throughout the house. Anyhow, that's how my night went. Morning isn't starting off much better. Since the power was out so long, my husband woke me at 6:00 ish to iron his work shirt. YUCK! It would have been done if the power didn't go out. Anyhow, that's all. I'm done. Time to get ready for the day. Take care all.

Too Much?
I have come to the realization recently that maybe we are doing too much school work. I mean we have to do the basics, Language Arts and Math, but by the time I do those, who really wants to do Science and Social Studies? I mean honestly, Anna loves them, but I am thinking of skipping out on them this year and letting her do Switched on Schoolhouse on the computer next year. What are your thoughts on this? I'm not too hot in either subject to be quite honest and while I don't mind her being interested, by the time we do math, writing, grammar, reading and spelling; to be quite honest I'm exhausted and don't really care to teach those. Is taking one year off those two going to kill us? I mean we'll still do them to some degree, but do we have to have a structured program for them? Can't we just read books and other things of that nature till next year? Hmmmm!!!! Now I've got myself thinking. Stay tuned. I may have my own answer later in the day. Your thoughts will also be helpful and appreciated! Thanks.

Last Free Week
School for us is to start next week. It will be a bit hectic, but we are starting none-the-less. Its time to get the show on the road. We took off last week completely and we are taking off this week completely, so that will be a nice break. I hope I'm ready for school to start. Anyhow. not much else to say right now. I want to keep this blog positive, so I better close for now. Happy August all.
